I don’t have anything against the disclaimers per se, after all the Hatheists would be suing the City without them; but what struck me was that the disclaimers are nearly as big as the ads. It’s like the City of New York wants to distance itself from religion.
As for lawsuits, they could fight back against them by showing they have ads promoting other religions, too, and are open to ones opposing religion, and point out that their ads for stores aren’t endorsements of those stores, either.
Really, an ad shouldn’t need a disclaimer; everyone knows what an ad is, space paid for by someone else to promote something.

They do. And only Christianity.
