Anti-Christian, feminist pornographic ‘art’ displayed at Ontario government art gallery

A Queen’s Park art gallery is seeing more action than usual because of local artist Rosalie H. Maheux’s racy piece called Sacred Circle XII.

From afar, the 33-square-inch work looks like a stained glass rose fit for a church. But upon closer inspection, it’s a collage of hardcore pornographic images involving women engaging in oral and anal sex.

Ah, porn and anti-Christian dogma. Displayed in a government building. Thanks, Liberal premier and lesbian grandma Kathleen Wynne! Figures

Naturally, the Conservative critic is only concerned with the ‘sexual objectification’ in the piece, not the obscenity nor the anti-Christian tweaking of it:

Ontario PC women’s critic Laurie Scott said she’s “disappointed” a publicly owned government building, Macdonald Block, has chosen to display graphic and sexually explicit images of women.

“Regardless of the aims or intent of the artist, Ontarians expect their government to lead by example in combating the sexual…

Satanic Temple still plans to unveil devil statue in Detroit, despite protests

As if Detroit didn’t have enough troubles already…

The Satanic Temple plans to unveil a large statue dedicated to the devil in the city of Detroit later this month, despite intensified protests by church leaders and residents that have caused the original venue to back out of the event.

Originally slated to be unveiled on July 25 at Bert’s Warehouse in Detroit before the venue canceled its involvement, the 9-foot bronze statue of Baphomet, a goatlike idol with a man’s body, horns and wings originally associated with the Knights Templar. The statue reportedly weighs one ton and is made of bronze.

On its website, the Satanic Temple said the state “is intended to complement and contrast the Ten Commandments monument that already resides on Oklahoma State Capitol grounds.”

“The statue will serve as a beacon calling for compassion and empathy among all living creatures. The statue will also have…

The Land – A Different Kind of Playground Where Kids Get to Play with Fire and Take Risks

‘The Land’ is a different kind of adventure playground in Wrexham, Wales, which doesn’t follow the traditional format of swings and slides. Instead, it allows kids to explore independence and take risks. The Land resembles a junk yard, where kids get to jump over barrels and into mud puddles, poke sticks into open fires, and hammer sharp nails into wooden planks.

“It’s shaped by children who attend,” said Claire Griffiths, play department manager at the Association of Voluntary Organisations, which manages The Land. “It’s open access provision so children come and go as they please. They build dens, saw, hammer; they create and they destroy.”

That pretty much sounds like a parent’s worst nightmare, but the concept is surprisingly popular. Most parents seem to agree that The Land offers a valuable childhood…

Dutch state pays for fortune-telling courses – with job guarantee

Spending taxpayers’ money to promote alternative ‘spirituality’…

Will S.' Random Weirdness Blog

The government’s UWV benefits agency has paid for several people to retrain as a ‘spiritual consultant’ or hypnotist, according to an item by public radio programme Reporter Radio.

Since 2008, seven people over the age of 50 have had funding of almost €1,000 to follow courses run by Paradidakt in Zoetermeer, Nos reports. The courses include reading Tarot cards and fortune-telling using a crystal ball. In addition, the UWV has paid for reincarnation sessions in the Ardennes region of Belgium, the programme said.

The UWV has defended its decision because the course provider guarantees a job at the end of it. The new fortune tellers work via a premium rate phone line earning 29 cents a minute. In addition, Paradidakt is an officially recognised training institute.

Paradidakt spokeswoman Marianne van der Wilk said she understood that people would have their doubts about the course and say it should…

New Fox TV Drama ‘Lucifer’ to Glamorize Devil as ‘Charming’ Nightclub Owner in ‘City of Angels’.
Fixed that for them.“My eyes are red cats’ eyes / marbles; aren’t they scary?”.

A new television drama to be released by Fox next year will seek to glamorize the devil in a hypothetical story about Satan’s earthly life as the owner of a posh nightclub in America’s City of Angels.

“Bored and unhappy as the Lord of Hell, Lucifer Morningstar has abandoned his throne and retired to L.A., where he owns Lux, an upscale nightclub,” a description of the series reads on the Fox website.

“Charming, charismatic and devilishly handsome, Lucifer is enjoying his retirement, indulging in a few of his favorite things—wine, women and song—when a beautiful pop star is brutally murdered outside of Lux,” it continues. “For the first time in roughly 10 billion years, he feels something awaken deep within him as a result of…
